Department introduction/description:

The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) is dedicated to diagnosing and treating various disorders affecting the digestive system, liver, and pancreas. The Department is well equipped with advanced endoscopy machines, fibroscan, and other modern diagnostic tools, and offers comprehensive care for gastrointestinal and hepatic conditions.

The department performs various procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and liver biopsy. In addition to providing exceptional clinical care, the department is actively involved in medical education, conducting research, and promoting public health initiatives. This multifaceted approach has established it as a leading center for gastrointestinal and liver care in Nepal, benefiting patients and the broader medical community.
