The Neurosurgery Department of MMC is a key part of the Institute of Medicine in Kathmandu, Nepal. The department of Neurosurgery is one of the earliest to provide sub speciality training since 2010 AD. Currently 10batches of graduates have been trained with degree of MCh and providing neurosurgical services across Nepal and abroad.

 a major tertiary care center for Neurosurgical care, including specialized units like the Intensive Care Unit and neurological units.

The department is staffed by highly trained neurosurgeons who handle a wide range of complex cases, including brain tumors, aneurysms, trauma, pediatric cases, and various neurological disorders with advanced neurosurgical equipment.

The department is also heavily involved in teaching and research, with activities such as journal clubs, case presentations, and mortality reviews. This ensures that both residents and medical students receive comprehensive training and exposure to the latest advancements in neurosurgery.
