The department also provides 24 hours backup for critical care services to more than 60 intensive care unit beds of the hospital. It also provides OPD services through its Pre-Anaesthetic Check up clinic, Obstetric Anaesthesia clinic, and Pain Clinic and offers varities of interventional pain procedures to the needy patients. The Department also provides postoperative care services as well as resuscitation services as a leader in dire situations. The department has also extended its services as remote anaesthesia to the radiology department for CT, MRI and fluroscopy services , procedural sedation for UGI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and ERCP for needy patients.

There are 14 full time faculties in the department. Among them, five have speciality training in Pain Medicine, two in Neuroanaestheisa, two in Transplant Anaesthesia and one each in Obstetric Anaesthesia and Paediatric Anaesthesia. With the speciality trainings the department is providing speciality services to the patients coming to the TUTH as well as conducting different educational activities and trainings for the students.
