- Department introduction/description :
Department of OBGYN is one of the major departments of Tribhuvan University Teaching hospital. It is one of the tertiary care centers where high risk obstetric and gynaecology patients are referred from all over the country. The department provides comprehensive womans health care including obstetrics related, infertility, family planning, general gynae and gynae oncology services.
It is the tertiary referral centre for all complicated cases especially obstetric and gynae cases with medical disorders, complicated cases needing multidisciplinary care or needing intensive care.
The Department also runs a model birthing centre where woman can deliver with the comfort of free movement and family with them without compromising on quality of care. The Mangala Devi Birthing Centre was formaly inaugurated by His Excellency Ambassador of India Mr Naveen Srivastav and Honourable Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat on 7th November 2023.
