Department introduction/description : Department of Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine is a tertiary referral center for pulmonary diseases. The department has done consistent work in pulmonary medicine benefitting patients in the field of COPD, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Pulmonary infectious diseases, asthma and tuberculosis. Besides, the department is taking the leadership in managing critically ill patients in Medical Intensive Care Units. The department is equipped with multiple diagnostic modalities – pulmonary function testing, fiber optic bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy. Installation of Polysomnography Lab for management of Sleep Disorders in on process. In addition to the clinical activities, the department has been involved in medical education as well as research activities

  • Tuesday and Thursday: 9 AM to 1 PM (Total Patient: 300+ in each OPD)
  • Sunday                         :2 PM to 4 PM  (Total Patient : 100+)

Daily Round:

  • Suresh Wagle Memorial Cancer Center, HDU A + HDU B: 15-20 patients per day
  • Annex III(Respiratory Ward) and Respi HDU: 20-22 patients per day
  • Medical ICU: 8 patients per day
  • Other wards: 8-10 patients per day
  • Consultation services to other specialties: 8-10 patients per day

Procedure :

  • Pulmonary Function Test/ DLCO: 50-60 tests per week
  • Bronscopy(BAL +Biopsy)/ Medical Thorasocopy: 12-14 procedures per week
